My collection presents twenty two of what I refer to as my "Proper poems", those longer and classically structured works that evoke a time when the demands and rigours of poetry made it something special. Following on from these are a selection of my verse tweets from my social media presence: forty seven variously humorous, pointed, poignant, downright silly, but invariably multilayered and always thoughtful verses in less than a hundred and forty characters - a master class in concision.

This volume then concludes with three of my short stories, one a prelude to my Dica series of speculative fiction novels, one a reminiscence from my own childhood days, and one a ghostly tale set in the Yorkshire Dales.

Leaveners' Poets' Corner

I was honoured in 2015 to announce that I was the featured poet for the month of August on the Leaveners' arts website, in their 'Poets' Corner'.  Three a week of my poems were published there over the course of the month.  One was also exhibited in their community partner's 'P Cafe' in Birmingham , UK, during September.  My thanks go to them as well for their kindness in hosting it.

This is a most laudable charity organisation that does much to support the arts - so, your support for them would be most appreciated, I'm sure.  Please pop along and have a look around their site by clicking on their logo to the left - I think you'll find it well worth the visit.
