A Flash in t'Oil Pan

Short notice run from West Marton near Skipton via Thirsk, across the North Yorks Moors returning via Ripon to Skipton, lead by Stu with Lainey (above centre), this run attracted Stu's mate Martin and his partner Amanda (both above left), Del (above right) meeting up at Thirsk and George popping by there just for the chin-wag, but not for the ride unfortunately.  Lensman was to have been on the run but his brake fluid master reservoir sprang a leak and he had to return home - bad luck mate.

Stu's Report

A good day out was had by all, with me and Lainey, and my mate Martin and his girlfriend Amanda making our way from the cafe meet-up in West Martin to Thirsk for the first break and the other meet-up.  The trouble was that the little bridge over the river Swale was shut, so we followed the posted diversion which ended up leaving us up a small country road in the middle of nowhere, with only a sign saying "Diversion Ends" for company.  Hence we ended up getting into Thirsk at 11:00 rather than 10.30.

 We couldn't see Del's bike and were starting to get worried when Lainey saw him in the cafe.  And who was sat with him but George, although he was not joining us on the ride.  But where was Del's  Bird?  Well that would be at the dealers where he has part exchanged it for a brand fire new Kawasaki ZZR1400 in black.  Very nice.

So off we went a little later than planned up over Sutton Bank, through Helmsley and up over the moors to Castleton for lunch.  Then it was up to Guisborough, across to Northalerton, Bedale, Masham (where Del peeled off home), Ripon and then home.  The route was in fact the "practice" day we had just before setting off for Belgium in '07

A bit windy and chilly in places but sunny all day. All good!
